Girls Day Out

It was the first time in 2009, me and 2 of my old high school friends went out together. I was late about almost 1,5 hours when I arrived at the mall they were still choosing clothes at kid section for the new baby born of Yuk Na, the tailor lady who often sew their party clothes.

Our next stop was Barong Kuring Seafood, a new restaurant located in the mall complex. Used to be the building was for Bolo Bolo Japanese Bento Restaurant, but it seemed not too success so they changed the business core.

The restaurant consist of 2 floors, the 2nd floor is more spacious but too noisy because they provide free karaoke for customers. So you can imagine hearing people with average ability of singing skill on the shows, not just ruining your appetite but also your ears. But its good place for group of people who look for fun entertainment together. Me and my friends decided to eat at the 1rst floor. As we sat on the sofa, all of us were surprised, we didn't expect that the sofa was really hard like sitting on the wood, we thought it would be cozy and soft sofa......so the ass was kinda shocked.....hehe...

Order time !!

Rice is a must, its good that they put some fried union on the top of it and also some cucumber and carrot pickles. The oxtail soup was nice but a bit too expensive for standard soup.

Price : Rice + Oxtail Soup = Rp. 35.000,-

For vegetable we chose tumis kangkung terasi, the taste was average, just like in other place. When the calamari arrived on our table, so disappointing. We were expecting deep fried calamari not wet saute calamari. But we couldn't complaint because they didn't put the pictures on the menu.

Price : Tumis Kangkung = Rp. 15.000,- Fried butter calamari = Rp. 30.000,-

Another disappointing menu were roasted duck with Balinese sauce and steamed tofu with mushroom. We thought the duck was whole but what they sold was small piece because the duck was in package with rice. And they gave us wrong food for 2 times, it was steamed anchovy in banana leaf, then we changed the order for fried tofu. After awhile the girl came and informed us that they didn't have tofu supply left.

Price: Rice + Roasted Duck = Rp. 19.000,-

I think the milkshake and shrimp cracker were the things that we didn't complaint...hehe. We ordered milkshake chocolate chip float and milkshake avocado float. Taste sweet and rich.

Price : Milkshake = Rp. 12.500,- Cracker = Rp. 5.000,-

Will we come back to the restaurant next time ?? Well...only if someone treats us to eat there.

Before go home, I bought Shantang orange. Its small sweet seedless orange, because its still in Imlek / Chinese New Year atmosphere so this seedless orange is everywhere.
